YNAB Third-Party App Disclaimer
This is a third-party companion app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or integrated into You Need A Budget (YNAB) LLC. Use of this application is entirely at your own risk. Connecting your YNAB account implies authorization of third-party token exchange via YNAB API.
1. Local-First Processing Philosophy
QuickCatch is engineered under a **local-first** framework. The core processing, junk cleaning, acronym boundary recognition, and recency category matching run entirely on your local Android device.
⚡️ We do not operate external companion servers, sync relays, or databases to inspect, store, or process your transactional history.
2. Data Access and Scope
To provide real-time transaction pre-filling, QuickCatch requires access to the following data streams:
- YNAB API Data: Plan lists, payee database, transaction history, categories, and account names. Access is securely authorized exclusively via YNAB's standard OAuth 2.0 protocol with granular, delegated scopes.
- Push Notifications: Local system accessibility/listener services scanning transaction notifications generated by authorized banking applications.
- Gmail Transaction Alerts: Secure, read-only inbox polling limited specifically to merchant payment receipts and transaction records.
3. Storage & Encryption
All retrieved data is managed on your device with high-security safeguards:
- Local Encrypted Cache: Your access tokens, YNAB category listings, and payees are stored in an encrypted SQLite database managed by Android Room Database API.
- Transit Security: Communication between QuickCatch and YNAB API endpoints (`api.ynab.com`) is encrypted in transit using standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS).
4. Zero Data Sharing Policy
We maintain absolute boundaries regarding user telemetry:
- We **NEVER** sell, rent, trade, lease, or share your plan data, categories, transaction items, or access tokens with any third parties.
- No advertising networks, tracking trackers, or analytic frameworks are embedded inside the application package.
5. User Control & Deletion
You retain total sovereignty over your plan and tokens:
- Revoking Access: You can terminate connection privileges at any time by going to your YNAB Account Settings, navigating to the Authorized Applications section, and clicking Revoke next to QuickCatch.
- Data Erasure: To purge all cached tokens, settings, and transaction records on your device, simply select "Clear Data" inside Android system settings for QuickCatch, or uninstall the app.
6. Changes to this Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect feature upgrades or YNAB OAuth compliance changes. Active updates will be logged on this page.
